The Technische Universität (TU) Dresden is one of the oldest and largest universities in Germany. Founded in 1828 in the city of Dresden and currently home to about 37.000 students, the university is strong in research, offering a wide range of programs with close ties to society, industry and the latest innovations.
 
Technische Universität Dresden was distinguished by the German Government as a “University of Excellence” in recognition of its high standard of research and outstanding teaching performance.
 
TU Dresden’s Department of Hydrosciences represents ten chairs dealing with the broad spectrum of hydroscience and engineering topics. The department has a community of 150 researchers and more than 1000 undergraduate and graduate students. It offers two international Master programs: “Hydroscience and Engineering” and “Flood Risk Management”. Aiming at finding sustainable solutions for integrated water management in arid and semiarid regions, the Department of Hydrosciences has intensive collaborations and joint initiatives with several partners in the MENA region such as Oman and United Arab Emirates.
