Capacity Development
Drawing on the unique capabilities of regional Centers of Excellence to build skills and promote transformation.
MENA NWC brings together recognized Centers of Excellence from across the region as its members. Member Centers work with MENA NWC to identify and prioritize capacity development opportunities. Then, the Network’s capacity development initiatives draw on the training capabilities within its membership base so as not to duplicate what exists, but rather to multiply its effectiveness to the benefit of all members. Capacity building initiatives range from direct interactive workshops to experiential learning opportunities such as the Network’s Scientific Staff Exchange Program that will launch in 2015.
MENA NWC’s capacity development efforts are currently focused on:
- Engaging the private sector in research activities
- Improving research proposal design, writing and implimentation
- Enhancing technical and professional skills
