The Arabian Gulf University (AGU) is a joint academic venture founded in 1980 in Bahrain by the six countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC): Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. AGU is an independent regional, non-political, non-profit university, established by the Arab Gulf States to fulfill the development needs of the region. It is home to the , which offers distance-learning for a post-graduate diploma in Integrated Water Resources Management.
