Water/Energy/Food Nexus

The Water/Energy/Food Nexus Technical Community addresses the integrated management of water, energy, and food resources, in order to optimize their production, consumption, import, and export. The ultimate goal is sustainability. Activities within the Technical Community address any two sectors within the nexus, or all three. 
 
Priority research areas are:

• Optimization of the reuse of treated wastewater for peri-urban agriculture in dry areas
• Modeling water futures (or modeling the water/food/energy nexus)
• Renewable energy for water treatment
